Only Wednesday?

I took 3 hours to get home yesterday. I left at 6.30pm, delighted that I'll be reaching home at an early 8.30pm but OMFG. Once again, I underestimated the intensity of KL Rush Hour. From Bukit Bintang to KL Sentral, I took two fucking hours. TWO FUCKING HOURS. The things you can do in 120 minutes include the following:

x Watch movie(s)
x Have long dinner, possibly coffee/dessert later
x Drive to PD/Genting, AND get a room at the impossibly long lines of First World Hotel. Haha, First World Hotel where the rooms treat you like Fourth World nation citizen. The irony.
x Sleep

As a result, it is a new day and I am still exhausted from the day before. My whole body was screaming out for a Caramel Macchiato but I resisted ..

And now I have crappy Nescafe which I made myself. I can't for the life of me, make good Nescafe. The first cup I made, I put in too much coffee and it tasted helluva bitter. I threw it away. Wasting company resources, I am :p Shh.

Furthermore, just checked my To Do and realized I haven't done alot. I waste away when I don't have my organizer, can't keep track of deadlines. So today, despite how strung I am, I have my heart on doing a lot of work.

A LOT! I will be productive today.

So I really should be signing off now.

Nothing like the weekend to make everything feel better!

I had such a good day, doing random, unexciting stuff. Random, unexciting stuff seem to satisfy me the most, for some reason. Probably because I'm a creature of comfort at heart, and just want to be who I am without the need to socialize, dress up, work, make small talk ...

Okay so basically, I'm just lazy.

The recipe to my good day were as follows:

I Wanna Be A Mutant

X-Men 3: Despite what everyone has been saying, I liked this last installment in the X-Men trilogy. Then again, I've always loved the X-Men, so I might be more than a little biased.

What was disappointing was that Angel was such a small character. He's got such a great power going on, and the visualization of it was so fantastic (the wings were gorgeous), but he was hardly pivotal to the movie. Also, the fact that there were so many deaths of major characters.

But, it is a movie based on a comic book, so people can die like a cat, but still come back more powerful, or more deranged than before. And if you stay until the end of the credits, you get to see a short scene which indicate that this MIGHT not be the last you see of the mutants.

I love mutants! Where can I get some genetic mutation done? Hmmm.

Carbs Are My Friends

Essential to any good day is the presence of food. Lots of it. In various colours, and in various food groups.

Lecka Lecka is slowly emerging to be my favourite in the ice-cream department. Prices are significantly less than its competitors, and their flavours are so much more original. Today's choice was Black Forest and White Peach. Can you say, 'awesome'?

Awesome, awesome. Add a packet of Lay's original chips and you have something to piss off your doctor, but make you a happy, fat camper.

Oh yeah, had a donut from Dunkin Donuts as well.

"I Wanna Be Forever ... 21"

Please download Youth Group's version of "Forever Young" though, since we're on that subject.

Forever 21 opened in 1 Utama last Friday. I never saw its big deal, but apparently, it was a big deal. Lots of girls were talking about it online, and the anticipation was seriously buikding up. I've heard of the brand, but never actually saw its clothes so I wasn't too excited.

Now that I've been in the store and seen their clothes, I so bloody regretted not accepting the invite to their launch by the magazine. What if there were vouchers! What if there were free clothes!

I am becoming such a freeloader, its not even funny. NOT. FUNNY.

The store is huge, and right next to MNG. The amusing thing was, as we were walking towards the shop, we passed Topshop, XOXO, Naf Naf and etc. They were empty.

Forever 21, on the other hand, was swarming with little fashionistas, and their wannabes.

Prices are not to say cheap, but when compared to similar brands like Warehouse and Topshop, significantly less. Their dresses are so pretty, and cost about RM129. Polka dots are everywhere; apparently they're the new black. (What was the old black?) Everywhere you go, its just cutesy kitschy polka dots. I personally am a fan of polka dots, but I'm not sure if I should get any because everyone would have them.

The clothes are gorgeous. I really like them, and their right up my alley. Looking at all the girls in the store, I felt so diminished. Everyone was so bloody hip and happening, and I was dressed so badly. Am I shallow for feeling this way? Probably.

So obsessed was I about the store that when the himbo was looking for Cafe 21 in Giant, I absent-mindedly asked, "So where's the Forever 21?"

Cue: snickers and taunting from himbo for being bimbo.

Still have to transcribe an interview and start on my logbook, blaaaarrrgh. Very tempted to do it tomorrow, and procastinated. Brother needs the computer, after all, so shall be selfless and let him use it. Hehe.

Quick update from freezing office.

Its FRIDAY! Its Friday!

*prances around*

I'm still sitting here in the freezing cold office, waiting for the rain to stop and for the clock to strike 6. We closed the issue last week so this week has been like a lay on the beach! In a purely non-sexual sense of course.

So I've been interning at the magazine for the past 2 weeks and it has been quite an experience so far. Most days I come home so dead tired from using public transport that I quite literally, sleep when my head touches the pillow. Haven't seen my family in a while as well, I wonder how they're doing!

I've also been eating like a freaking pig the past few days. On Wednesday night, there was dinner and cocktails with Belvedere Vodka, on Thursday evening was hi-tea at Delicious cafe and today, breakfast at Dome. Sounds good? Yeah try doing it three days in a row. I never thought I would grow sick of free food.

But not, like, I want to like, give it up or anything. Heh.

I'm not complaining, I'm secretly enjoying these perks hehe. I'm so giddy in an annoying fresh graduate kind of way. And I haven't even graduated yet. Bleh.

The 'meeting of new people', as I've come to find out, isn't as scary as I thought it would be. I was imagining really awkward pauses and stupid questions (from me), but I seem to be doing okay so far. I've called up loads of people (got really bad treatment from a very rude Malaysian BAR Council - BAR Council are you reading this?!), typed up a heck load of listings, pored over press releases ... speaking of that, press releases for perfumes have GOT to be WORST. Every single one of them describes their perfume as "sensuous", or "intoxicating" and "alluring". Bloody hell. Get a thesaurus.

Anyway wish I could tell more, but I'm too lazy. Best ask me in person or over IM. On a little note, the new issue of KLue comes out this weekend, so do get one. :)

//Listening to Iron and Wine from someone else's speakers. My PC here got no speakers :( Or Windows Media Player. Or MS Word, for the matter. Haha!

The End (of a semester).

In typical Sarah fashion --

Friday night, not only any Friday night, but the Friday of my last exam and where am I? At home alone, tra la la! I rain on my own parade, so there's no need to feel bad for me. After several all-nighters, emergence of pimples due to stress and an insane amount of reading ... staying home, watching downloaded TV shows and trailers seemed like a really good idea. Not to mention the best present of all - sleeping any time I want, waking up any time I want the next day. That, is surely life's best pleasure.

Anyway this weekend is all I have before getting on the next ride - my internship. I HAVE TWO DAYS TO PREP FOR MY INTERNSHIP! The College's genorousity is astounding. That's barely enough time to even grasp the fact that I am going to (semi) work this coming Monday. I've come to the conclusion that I am REALLY NERVOUS. It never struck me before because I was too preoccupied with my exams, but now that I've flushed out everything I studied (so much for education) and my mind is clearer ... I am very very worried. Of what? Don't know. The fact that I don't exactly know how to fax or work the photostat machine. That my brain will shut down during meetings and will be unable to give any opinions. That I'd be socially awkward and dorky (I am so dorky). That my mouth will run away with me. Gaaaaggh.

What can I do!?! MAKE COFFEE!

Thanks Starbucks, for that invaluable skill.

And like the glutton I am, I typed this entire entry while polishing off Hilton's boxed lunch thing my mom got from her training today. I finished off the entire carbohydrates section - cheesecake, bun + butter + jam and a damn good cupcake. Who be da playa pig!

This is what you do when you are home on a Friday night and the himbo is in Penang so can't take you out.

(I misses you.)
