The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Thursday, April 28, 2005

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has already opened in some countries. Ugh I am so jealous! Read the book in 2003 and it was damn fucking funny. Didn't get to complete the series though, because it would have cost too much on my student's salary (which is nothing, depending on allowance, hmpf). I heard they sold the omnibus at Kinokuniya but I dunno .. haven't seen it there.

UGH hope it comes to Malaysia soon! Alien poetry! Trillian! The depressing robot whose name I can't remember.

And.

Fourty-two. :D

it's really that good? Recently I've been thinking of getting it.

But then the movie is coming out, kinda torn between reading the book now (spoil the movie) or read the book after the movie.

But then I still have Neil Gaiman's American Gods I've yet to finish.

kawa: well the humour may not appeal to all, but the book is generally, very very funny. the dialogue and the scenarios can really crack you up. it's more of british humour, so if you enjoy shows like The Office or Blackadder, i think you'll love it.

American Gods was EXCELLENT! really makes you think.

    Should be good then.

Yeah, I'm(was) half way through American Gods. I had it personalised, autographed by Neil Gaiman himself! Even took a pic with him. Haw haw!

Kawa: OMG I AM SO JEALOUS!! how did you meet him and all?!

gaiman is sexy, i think. :p

I await, breathlessly, for the arrival of "The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy" in my mail box - playing in a laptop near me...

    *sigh*

That's what happens when you stay in Manipal...

(BTW, from the little I've previewed, I think Alan Rickman's excellent as Marvin!)

I was studying in Newcastle when the book came out. I frequent this comic speciality shop call Forbidden Planet. I'm a fan of the comics he wrote. Mainly Sandman and Death: A High Cost of Living. U should try them. Kinokuniya should have them.

One day they put a sign up saying Gaiman will be around for signing for his "new" book, American Gods. Bought the hardcover version which costs only about RM50 (after conversion) and Death: A High Cost of Living tpb for him to sign. A bonus that we are allowed to take pics with him. Hmm, something to blog about. heh!

I'm not sure if he's sexy or not.. hahaha

    Sarah,
I loved the HHGTG books too, but I heard the movie was horrible... supposedly they take all of the funniest lines out. I understand there was a TV series quite a while ago; not sure if that was supposed to be any better. Anyway, don't feel bad about not being able to see it yet... You may be better off leaving it to your imagination!

P.S. the depressed robot was Marvin. :)

Yup I heard it was supposed to be bad as well Sarah, but I wait with breath that is bated and hands that are sweaty with the hope no one has screwed with HHGTTG! Damnit!

Anywhoo, you know how much I love 42!

H2G2 was the best book i've ever read. BTW they're selling the ultimate guide (whole compilation, 5+1 books) at MPH and probably kino for less than RM60 or so.

    GO GET IT

I skim a lot of blogs, and so far yours is in the Top 3 of my list of favorites. I'm going to dive in and try my hand at it, so wish me luck.

It'll be in a totally different area than yours (mine is about mens male enhancement reviews) I know, it sounds strange, but it's like anything, once you learn more about it, it's pretty cool. It's mostly about mens male enhancement reviews related articles and subjects.

Well, this is interesting. I did a blog search for barista school and found your site. When I get some time I'll come back and find out where barista school appears and how it relates - if it even does. Take care - nice work.
